Clarys was founded in 1970 by Herman Clarys and was established in Izegem (West Flanders). Originally the company Clarys was a commercial trading company, which operated in the capacity of a commercial agent.
In 1978, the expansion of the company activities and the resulting limitations of the site in Izegem necessitated a search for a new site.This new site was found in Oostkamp, where the company is still located.
Clarys Food Ingredients was founded in 1994 under the management of Kurt Clarys. This company focuses on the fermentation industry.
In 1996, the facilities in Oostkamp were further expanded.
Another 7 years later, in 2003, Clarys was restructured and in-house production was started. This production takes place in air-conditioned rooms equipped with modern machinery, flexible production facilities as regards the mixing and packaging of powdered mixtures.
A new expansion of the activities, through a more intensive approach to the baking industry, the resulting expansion of the production facilities and the commissioning of a logistics centre were realised in 2008.
Expansion of our laboratory facilities and R&D activities in all divisions followed 2 years later.
In the meantime, Clarys Food Ingredients Biochemists has grown into a businesses specialising in the creation of solutions, innovations and optimisations at the request of customers as well as at its own initiative. This is all done in close cooperation both with the existing and potential customers.
To make it possible to realise all of this, Clarys has modern facilities available and top quality staff, which each make an important contribution each day in their posts in striving for our objectives. Both divisions continuously invest in personnel training, setting-up new projects, research into new technologies and the optimisation of existing activities.
Naturally, Clarys Food Ingredients Biochemists pays close attention to quality.
The company implements integral quality management, which must result in the optimisation of profitability, efficiency, and results at all levels. This is also supported by the BRC-certificate, which is achieved annually.
